Onboarding

Five steps to open—with realistic timing

Opening a RoyaleDirect Bank account is a sequenced process run from our London operations. The timings below are guidance for straightforward profiles; enhanced reviews take longer. Product availability depends on verification status and jurisdiction.

The five opening steps

  1. Create credentials — typically 10–20 minutes Register email/phone, set a strong password, accept disclosures, and choose personal or business intent. Confirm your inbox or SMS link before continuing.
  2. Identity verification — typically same day if documents are clear Capture government ID, complete liveness or equivalent, and upload proof of address dated within the accepted window. Retakes are common when glare or crop fails automated checks.
  3. Profile & purpose — typically 15–40 minutes Declare occupation, tax residency, expected volumes, source of funds, and (for business) ownership structure. Incomplete answers are the most frequent cause of return requests.
  4. Decision & screening — typically 1–3 business days; longer if enhanced Automated checks run first. Analyst review triggers for higher risk, complex ownership, or uneven documentation. You may receive secure requests for invoices, bank statements, or clarifications.
  5. Activation & first funding — typically minutes after approval Enable security settings (authenticator recommended), review limits, order cards if eligible, and fund via supported rails. First large outgoing transfers may face additional cooling or confirmation.

What slows the timeline

  • Expired ID or address evidence outside the accepted date range.
  • Name mismatches across documents and application.
  • Unexplained expected volumes relative to occupation.
  • Business applications missing UBO declarations.
  • High-risk corridors requested at day one without supporting narrative.
Tip: Prepare PDFs or high-resolution images before you start. Submit once, correctly—serial partial uploads extend queues.

After you are live

Limits start conservatively under client protection processes and may rise with verified history. Read Fees and Rates as illustrative until your in-product schedules appear. For elevated service demand, see Private banking.
