Personal accounts built for cross-border clarity
Hold multiple currencies, send and receive through IBAN, SWIFT, and SEPA where available, and manage everyday banking with institutional banking practice and client-protection processes.
Multi-currency balances under one login
RoyaleDirect personal accounts are designed for residents and internationally mobile clients who need predictable rails, documented verification, and operational visibility—not marketing slogans.
Current account
Day-to-day payments, card spending, and domestic transfers with configurable alerts and spending visibility.
Multi-currency wallets
Hold major currencies in segregated balances. Convert when you choose, subject to published FX spreads and cut-off times.
Savings companion
Optional savings pocket with clear rate language and withdrawal rules. See the savings page.
IBAN, SWIFT, and SEPA participation
Account identifiers and corridor availability depend on verification status, residency, and product package. We publish supported corridors in-app after onboarding.
What you typically receive after approval
- Account number and payment details appropriate to your jurisdiction package.
- IBAN where the product package supports European-format identifiers.
- SWIFT/BIC reference for incoming international wires when enabled.
- SEPA credit transfer eligibility for EUR payments within the SEPA zone when your profile qualifies.
Outgoing transfers
Domestic, SEPA, and SWIFT instructions can be initiated from the web or mobile session after two-factor confirmation. Cut-off times, intermediary bank fees, and FX conversion rules are shown before you confirm.
Incoming funds
Share only the identifiers displayed in your verified profile. Funds may be held for review when name matching, sanctions screening, or unusual patterns require manual assessment under client protection processes.
Account types and who they suit
Standard personal
Individuals with straightforward income sources, domestic or limited cross-border activity, and standard monthly volumes.
- Standard verification path
- Card eligibility after profile checks
- Baseline transfer limits that can rise with history
International personal
Clients who regularly move funds across borders, hold multiple currencies, or maintain residency documentation spanning more than one country.
- Expanded document checklist
- Corridor-by-corridor activation
- Optional private banking referral for higher demand
Business activity must use a business account. Mixing personal and commercial flows may delay reviews or restrict features.
Opening flow
The path is deliberate. Each stage exists to meet institutional banking practice and to keep client protection processes consistent.
- Application Create credentials, confirm contact channels, and select personal product intent.
- Identity Government ID, liveness or equivalent check, and address evidence as required by your residency profile.
- Profile & purpose Occupation, expected volumes, source of funds, and tax residency declarations.
- Decision Automated screening plus analyst review when thresholds or risk signals apply. Timing varies; see How it works.
- Activation Fund the account, enable cards if eligible, and configure limits and notifications.
Limits, monitoring, and escalation
Initial limits protect both the institution and the client during the early relationship. As verified activity accumulates, limits may increase. Sudden spikes, third-party deposits, or unexplained patterns can trigger temporary holds.
- Daily and monthly outgoing transfer caps by corridor.
- Card purchase and ATM cash withdrawal ceilings.
- Velocity checks on new payees and first-time international destinations.
- Manual review queues for large incoming wires.
Limits shown in demo environments are illustrative. Live limits appear in your authenticated workspace after approval.
Frequently asked questions
Can I hold more than one currency?
Yes, subject to product package. Each currency balance is tracked separately. Conversions use the rate and spread shown at confirmation time.
Will I always receive an IBAN?
IBAN issuance depends on the account package and jurisdiction pathway. If IBAN is not available for your profile, alternative receiving instructions are provided where permitted.
How does SEPA differ from SWIFT?
SEPA credit transfers typically apply to EUR payments within the SEPA zone with standardized timelines. SWIFT wires support a broader set of currencies and destinations with intermediary banks and variable fees.
What documents are usually required?
Government-issued photo ID, proof of address, and information on occupation and expected activity. Additional evidence may be requested for international profiles or higher volumes.
How long does opening take?
Straightforward profiles may complete within one to three business days after documents are accepted. Enhanced reviews can take longer. Timing is described on How it works.
Are there monthly account fees?
Fee schedules are published on the Fees page and are illustrative in demo contexts. Live fee tables appear in-product and may vary by package.
Can I upgrade to private banking later?
Yes. Clients with higher complexity or service demand can request a private banking path. See Private banking for advisor onboarding.
What happens if a transfer is held?
You will receive a notification requesting clarification or documents. Funds remain subject to screening until the review concludes under client protection processes.
Is joint ownership available?
Joint structures depend on product availability and verification for each party. Ask support after individual eligibility is confirmed.
How do I close an account?
After settling obligations and completing any required exit checks, you can request closure via Help or authenticated messaging.
Ready to open a personal account?
Start verification when you have ID and address evidence ready. Product availability depends on verification status and jurisdiction.
